Love this new, welcoming communication regarding our beautiful Lakeside community! Thank you so much for providing this outlet and a way to share with one another a positive message. I would imagine this website will be a healthy collaboration of sharing and memories of what has been and a new fostering of ideas and opportunities for growth.
Love this Weebly site, I had no idea I could make a free blog so easily, thanks!
Is this a white supremacy neighborhood? I am a minority, and my home and my action is being watched 24/7 by a neighbor on the block I live.
And this neighbor been trying to regulate everything I do, from the amount of time I can park (WHEN THERE IS 5+ SPACES THAT IS ALWAYS EMPTY) and what kind of shade I can hang on my deck. There are many more incident like this and it gets to the point where people can just glance and see that this is plain HARASSMENT.
I read through the Rules and Regulation the other day, and this HOA is GARBAGE! I can't do this and this to my deck, I can't hang curtain for shades or privacy, I cant this, I cant THAT. BUT, when it comes to FIXING the Deck due to wear and tear.. IT COMES OUT OF MY POCKET???!?!?!?! SO if you are going to regulate the crap out of someone's place, how come we have to spend money to fix it up for you???? What kind of tyrannic bull-crap is this?
UPDATE: ok, so I found out that this Neighbor on my block is apparently a Friend or family member of the "board"
HA! so why not regulate the peasants when you have royal blood eh?? Playing Lord of the Block?? I am almighty and I do whatever I want because I have connection to the "board"
As a Iraq Veteran, I am very sadden and disgusted to see the people and a neighborhood like this, when i sworn to protect this country and it's people, I didn't expect to come home and get shit on by some rich guy that walk all on others like a tyrant because he is related to the almighty "board".
And they even hang the flag out front. OH PLEASEEEE..... If you are that neighbor and you are reading this, I just want you to know that my dead brothers oversea would love to climb out of their graves just to spit on people like you.
Thanks for contributing and sharing your thoughts...they seem to be widely held by a large percentage of the members.
I'm getting sick of the near-daily use of loud, shrill power tools. It feels like I'm living in an industrial zone, not a residential neighborhood. If you must use power tools, please use them inside with the windows and doors closed to minimize the disturbance. If you hire someone to use power tools in your home, please mention this to them before they start. Being ignorant of the noise levels coming from your home doesn't mean you're not responsible for the problem.
Now there's someone across the street using a loud power tool in their garage with the door open. This asshole is ruining an otherwise perfect day. And it isn't the first time. Fucking stop it!!!
Now "Stanley Steemer" has a van parked outside a garage making a ton of noise. Why can't they back it into the garage and close the door?
For the second time this week and at least the fifth time in the last month or so, the person across the street is sitting at a table in front of their garage using a loud power tool. Go inside your garage and close the door ffs. It would reduce the amount of noise the rest of us have to hear.
"Stanley Steemer" is back, making excessive noise early on a weekend. I'm sure the whole neighborhood appreciates that.
I would also appreciate a few less drunks wandering around late at night, laughing like hyenas, intentionally setting off car alarms, etc. If you're the host who invited these people, you're responsible for them.
Just spoke to Mike at Gold Coast. It was regarding an emergency I had on a broken water line in my unit. He was fantastic! Came to the property and helped me get a plumber out to fix the issue. Thank you!!!!
I'm the one that used the initial "T" in other comments, except the one on 05/27/2015. That was someone impersonating me to prop up Mike. Gee, I wonder who would do that. Also, what homeowner would refer to their home as "my unit" or "the property" instead of "my house" or "home"? Pathetic. If it was Mike himself or someone who works with him, that would be grounds for our neighborhood to stop using Gold Coast and go with a reputable association management company if one exists. Impersonation can be a crime, but this instance might be too petty to qualify. Still pathetic. I thought I was being petty by complaining about noise, but this takes the cake. Or maybe it was a legitimate person whose name starts with T who didn't have the presence of mind to use a unique identifier.
Channel Islands Carpet Cleaning can suck my ass. So can the people who live at the house they're at.
Now some assholes are using a generator to...idk...wtf...fix a gate?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Now they're doing it again.
I'm not joking. They've literally destroyed the gate with power tools, and now they're doing something mysterious with a bucket.
Now they're doing it again...
For anyone who moved here thinking this was a good neighborhood, think again. This is where a neighborhood association gets you. Generator and power tool hell.
Still in hell...
Did I mention they're illegally parked?
Now they're doing it again....
*Camarillo sucks mud from dog rectum
Am I the only one who has respect for Columbus Day? Are three ships not holy? Fucking commies!!!
If nothing else, future generations will be graced with a timeline of my descent into madness.
Still in hell....
They left and came back. They're illegally parked in a different spot now. They just put up some yellow tape and left again. I guess they think that the people who actually live here don't have the right to use that particular chunk of community property just because the gate is removed.
They're back and illegally parked in a different spot now. They just turned the generator back on. I give up. I hate this fucking neighborhood. I hate this fucking city. Assholes.
And they just started using the power tool again.
I'm going into this much detail to let anyone who bothers to read this know what it's like to live in this shithole. Shit like this isn't rare here. I am a fucking saint for having as much patience as I've had and hopefully continue to have.
Someone is using power tools inside with the door open. Refer to my comment on 10/9/2014.
Off topic, but I just saw a police car make a right turn on red without stopping at the intersection of Carmen and Daily.
Someone is using a machine so loud that I initially thought it was coming from right outside my house. But it turns out it's coming from the other side of the lake. That's how loud it is. This is a perfect demonstration of the kind of thing that is commonplace in this neighborhood, but should only be commonplace in an industrial zone or construction site. People live here, but these assholes don't treat the neighborhood as if people live here.
This is a bit late, but I also don't appreciate the woodchipper being used in our neighborhood about a week ago. They had a big enough truck. Why couldn't they haul away the branches and do the woodchipping somewhere else instead of here? Even if they had to make an extra trip, that's better than crapping on our neighborhood with all the excessive noise.
Refer to my comment on 5/2/2015. Different irresponsible host this time, though.
Can someone tell me who the contact is to put in a work order?
Call Mike Marsh at Gold Coast Management in Newbury Park. He is the person who, with permission from the Board, issues the work orders for the Village.
The recent work the power company did was really helpful, eh? (sarcasm)
BTW, the weather is perfect. (not sarcasm)
Apparently, Camarillo Community Church thinks it's OK to trespass on our street to advertise their church.
do they stalk the lake? and where could i go to see a list of what types of fish they stock in the lake?
No, the lake is not stocked with anything other than mosquito fish. We used to stock, but it was to expensive to continue especially with the cormorants eating many of the fish. We also had a fish kill that decimated most of them.
If you would like more information please call Mike Marsh at Gold Coast Management in Newbury Park.
For the second time this week, there is a van in a neighbor's driveway with a loud machine running in it. (2 different neighbors responsible for the noise on different days)
By my count, there have been at least 8 power outages here in the last 3 months.
For the third time in three weeks, there is a van in a neighbor's driveway with a loud machine running in it.
Some people are using power tools to destroy a gate.
The gate people are back to make our neighborhood noisy for 3 hours again.
The gate assholes are back. Why couldn't they have just finished everything in one day instead of coming back over and over? Also, did the HOA get a refund for the work that was done on the gates last year, since apparently it wasn't good enough?
Also, they have two trucks parked illegally in the street right now.
Ha! They just had to move because someone who actually lives here wanted to use their own driveway. Maybe the gate assholes should've found a legitimate place to park in the first place.
Now it looks like they're destroying a gate on the other side of the lake. It's farther away, but still very loud.
2 power outages today
A fat guy in a red shirt trespassed on our street(s) today to advertise a pizza place. Maybe the sign at the entrance to the street needs to be more clear about this being private property.
Jehovah's witnesses trespassed.
I grew up in Camarillo (ACHS '76) and have always had the goal to retire there. I remember Lakeside Village as being a centrally located great place to live - a kind of resort feel to it. I am now in the market to buy a retirement house in Camarillo and Lakeside Village is a definite option from price and location: walking distance to a lot of places as well as to the Camarillo Trolley. I have a couple of questions:
1. Is there any kind of mosquito issue with the lake?
2. Another poster here seems a bit dissatisfied. One thing this poster mentioned was an inordinate amount of power outages. This would worry me. Do other readers here experience a lot of power outages, or is it possible that these outages are limited to that particular poster's house?
3. I would appreciate any other suggestions and advice people might have for me.
The power outages affect the whole neighborhood, sometimes a larger section of the city, not just my house. The weird thing about them is that most of them happen when the weather is perfect. I probably shouldn't complain if it happens when the weather is bad.
On a positive note, the person who was having lots of loud parties moved out, so the noise issues haven't been as bad.
The reason I came here today was to remind people to pay attention to the yield signs at the T-intersection at the entrance to the neighborhood. Twice recently I've seen people blow through there.
I take back what I said about the noise not being as bad. Right now there is a generator running in a van in a driveway. It's been running for over an hour. There have also been a lot of illegal fireworks being set off almost every night for the last 2 months.
Another power outage during perfect weather.
I have been a Lakeside resident (tenant)for over 13 years. This management company is absolutely horrible. I have considered buying a home here but never with this msnagement company in place. A perfect example would be the problems with the pool gate as well as the entrance gates. Did you know that the landscapers have to climb over the pool fence on the east side to use the restroom? That the pool service has to climb over the fence to check the chemicals. That anyone wanting to use the pool or jacuzzi for 26 of the last 30 days jas either had to climb over the fence or boost a small child over the fence. I have either emailed, text messaged, or left a message at the office of Mike Marsh over a dozen times.
I heard the dues are going up. When are the additional assesments from the west pool fiasco going to be paid off ?
I have been in real estate for over 40 years and can tell you that if the association was run efficiently values would immediately increase by 50-75000.00.
Also the gates did not open during the blackout. One lawsuit after another just waiting to happen
